The object is opened and you can view the relationship of the object with the bookmark.

Open from 3DCompass

You can open Inventor® data from 3DCompass.

  1. Activate the Design with Inventor and 3D Component Designer licenses.
  2. Search for an already uploaded Inventor® data in 3DEXPERIENCE.
  3. Select the searched data.
  4. Click Inventor® connector from the west quadrant of 3DCompass.
    The Inventor® data is opened.
    Notes:
    • You can exclude the BOM-only data while opening the assmebly in Inventor by adding VPMReference, <ServerSideAttributeFor_NotInCAD>|<CADType>,<ConnectorSideAttributeFor_NotInCAD> mapping. Specify the connector side attribute in InventorUPSSettings.ini as AttribForNotInCAD=ConnectorSideAttributeFor_NotInCAD. Specify the value of the attribute as True to exclude a design while opening.
    • The RepInstance link between a physical product and a drawing (Inventor drawing or AutoCAD drawing) is preserved when only the physical product is opened in the CAD session and saved back to the 3DEXPERIENCE server.
      Note:

If the older Inventor version drawing file is connected with the newer version of Part/Assembly files, you might get data migration pop-up from Inventor during checkout of data.

If you are getting lot of error related to the data migration, you can define below flag in InventorUPSSettins.iniEnableSilentOperation=true. This flag will suppress the data migration pop-ups.

    • The RepInstance link can be created between inventor part and SLE drawing, SLW drawing or a CATIA drawing. Not all such use-cases are in the scope of this functionality.
    • In case the Inventor® is already opened, the 3DCompass connects the already opened Inventor® session to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • If you install more than one Inventor® on your system, the system starts the latest supported installed version of Inventor®.
