Moving Planning Builds

Product Planners can move planning builds from the context manufacturing plan to another manufacturing plan. Any previously existing connections are first removed before the new connection is made.

This page is available only if Design and Manufacturing Configuration Planning is installed. The following rules apply:

  • Manufacturing plans in the Released and Archived states, as well as the context manufacturing plan, are not displayed on the search results as targets. Only plans in the Plan or Build state can be moved.
  • Only one manufacturing plan can be selected from the target list.
  • Only plans defined at the product level of the context plan are available for moving builds.
  • If you try to move builds at model context across different product revisions, any builds allocated to any manufacturing plans of the corresponding product will be deallocated from the plans.

Before you begin:

Access the Planning Builds page. See Viewing Planning Builds.

  1. Select one or more builds that you want to move.
  2. From the page Actions menu or toolbar, click Move.
    The Search page opens, showing a list of available manufacturing plans under the context product that are in the Plan or Build states.
  3. Select a plan.
    The plan is then connected to the selected build(s). Any previously existing connections are first removed before the new connection is made. If any of the selected builds are passing validations, a warning message shows the moves that could not be completed.
