Close and Offset Primitives

You can migrate standard close and offset primitives into CATIA V6 using the CATIA_SPEC option.

  1. In your CATIA V4 session, use the Merge option in the Solid function to merge the whole model into one solid.
  2. Save the changes.
  3. Open your V4 model in a CATIA V6 session.


  4. Right-click *MASTER and select Copy.
  5. Select Add > Content.
    The New dialog box appears.
  6. Click 3D Part.
    A new 3D part is created.
  7. In this document, right-click the PartBody and select Paste Special.
  8. Ensure that CATIA_SPEC is the option selected in the Paste Special dialog box that is displayed.
  9. Click OK.


    You have access to the model's geometry and specifications. Therefore, you can now modify each feature in the new document.
