Animating a Sequence of Viewpoints

You can show 3D data from a variety of viewpoints, take a camera shot of each viewpoint, and link the viewpoints in a sequence.

  1. Click Record Viewpoint Animation .
    An initial thumbnail appears in Viewpoint Step Browser.
  2. In the Viewpoint Action dialog box, set the parameters for the viewpoint action.
    1. Enter the name of the animation.
    2. Optional: Select the Automatic insertion check box to automatically capture a shot of every change of viewpoint you make.

      If the check box is cleared, you need to click Insert to take a shot and insert it to the sequence.

  3. Change the viewpoint and click Insert .
    A shot is captured and added to the list of thumbnails.

    The upper-right corner of a thumbnail shows the total time within the simulation required to arrive at this viewpoint shot from the beginning, whereas Duration(sec) shows the time required to arrive at this viewpoint shot from its previous shot.

  4. Use the player to run through your animation and modify the sequence if necessary.
  5. Click OK.
    The viewpoint animation is stored under the Notes node of the active markup in the tree.
  6. To play the animation, select the animation in the tree and click Play in the Compass.
