Creating a Section

Sectioning lets you take sections of an object for visualization purpose.

  1. Click Sectioning .
    A section plane appears cutting the whole product. However, you can select the required objects in the 3D area or tree before or during the sectioning.
  2. Position the section plane using the following methods:

    • Select the section plane and drag to translate it. A ruler helps you position the section precisely.
    • Use the Robot to rotate and translate the section plane.
    • Use the following commands from the context toolbar:
      Command Description
      Positions the section plane normal to x-axis.
      Positions the section plane normal to y-axis.
      Positions the section plane normal to z-axis.
      Lets you position the section precisely by selecting a plane, two coplanar lines, a line and a point, or three points.
      Lets you select an edge or a surface to position the section.
      Lets you position the section using the positioning panel.
      Resets the section to its original position.
      Sets the current position of the section as the home position.

  3. Click Validate the Section .
