Running Band Analysis

You can run band analysis to compute and visualize the areas on parts or products corresponding to a minimum distance within a user-defined range.

Before you begin: To add Band Analysis command to the action bar:
  • Select Me > Preferences > Customize.
  • In the Commands tab, locate Band Analysis.
  • Drag and drop the command to any section of the action bar.

About Band Analysis
  1. From the action bar, select Band Analysis
  2. In the Band Analysis panel, select the desired mode of measurement. For example, Chain Measure .

    By default, Single Measure is selected. For more information, see Refining Criteria.

  3. In the Calculation Mode box, select Approximate.

    Note: The other calculation modes are not taken into account.

  4. Enter the desired values in the Minimum distance and Maximum distance boxes to define the bandwidth. For more information on the meaning of these values, see About Band Analysis.
  5. Optional: Enter a value in the Accuracy box.

    A lower accuracy value provides more accurate result, but the computation time is higher.

  6. Select the first object.


  7. Select the second object.



    The band analysis is performed and the minimum distance result is displayed in the 3D area.

    • The green surfaces identify the areas where the minimum distance between the products is within the specified range.
    • Red surfaces identify the areas where the minimum distance between the products is less than the specified minimum distance.



    Important:
    • To display the colors for different areas, ensure that you select the Display/Hide the red clearance area and the Display/Hide the green clearance area check boxes in the Measure Customization panel.
    • You can show or hide various measure parameters in the Measure customization panel or on the context toolbar.
  8. Select the next object.
    The band analysis is performed and the results are displayed in the 3D area.



  9. Click Validate the Measure on the context toolbar.
