Viewing Reviews in VR

You can visualize reviews using a Head Mounted Display (HMD) in VR.

Before you begin:
  • You must have the ICE (Immersive Collaboration Experience) role assigned, otherwise a 2D watermark is rendered above the object and the collaboration is disabled.
  • You must have a certified configuration with a high-end VR-compatible graphics card.
  • Configure the HMD device as explained in 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Navigating a Virtual Environment Using HMD.
  • Plug the HTC© Vive™ device and put on the headset.

  1. From the AR-VR section of the action bar, click 3D Validation HMD to browse the review features.
    • The review is displayed in VR with primary and secondary controllers. The 3D review features such as 3D markers, measures, sections, product structure overloads, and slides are displayed.
    • Only those reviews created on products or PPR objects are supported.
    • By default, the navigation mode is active. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Navigating a Virtual Environment Using HMD.
  2. Press the side (grip) button on the device to switch to the presentation mode.
  3. On the secondary controller, press to start the presentation mode.
The 3DEXPERIENCE window and the HMD Mirror window display the review data in the presentation mode.
  4. Use the navigation buttons on the primary controller to check all the slides in the presentation mode.

When the slides are displayed in VR:

    • The current viewpoint is modified for a better display of the object. If the distance between the new viewpoint and the geometry is less than 30cm, the object is moved to 30cm for easy review.
    • The name of the slide, the number of total slides, and the name of the corresponding markup are displayed above the primary controller.
    • In the presentation mode, if you modify the viewpoint on the desktop, the viewpoint in the virtual environment is also modified.
