Viewing Objects against the DMU 3D Ground

The DMU ground lets you visually insert a plane at the ground level of your document, thus enabling you to recognize when your document is viewed the right way up. You can show, hide and manipulate the DMU 3D ground.

  1. Click DMU 3D Ground .
The ground is displayed in the work area. By default, the plane parallel or tangent to the bottom point of your document is considered to be the ground.

  2. Point to one of the ground manipulators (any one of the primary or secondary lines) and drag the ground.

As you drag the ground, the pointing-hand pointer changes to a grasping-hand pointer and the distance from the ground's origin point is displayed. The ground is repositioned accordingly.

  3. To reposition the ground along one of the other three main axes, right-click the ground and select the axis from the proposed list (XY Plane, YZ Plane or XZ Plane).
The ground is repositioned along the corresponding axis.
Note: You can customize the DMU 3D ground through Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Social and Collaborative > Global Design Management > Design Synthesis > 3D Ground.
