Inserting a New 3D Shape Representation

You can insert a new 3D shape in an assembly. A 3D shape is a 3D design representation.

  1. Select a product.
  2. From the Product Modification section of the action bar, click Insert New 3D Shape .

    Notes:
    • To successively repeat this action, double-click the command. The repeat mode is only available for a monoselection. To end the repeat mode, press Esc.
    • This command is also available from the context menu.

    The 3D Shape dialog box appears if the Set attribute as option has been selected when creating objects of this type. For more about this dialog box, see Create a 3D Part.
  3. From the 3D Shape tab, define these attributes:
    • 3D Shape Name
      Note: By default, the name of the representation is provided in the 3D Shape Name box with the unique key server identifier. You can accept the default name or give a different representation name.
    • Description
  4. Click Finish.
    The new 3D shape representation is added in the existing assembly.
