Replacing Items by Latest Revision

You can replace one or several objects by their latest revision.

Important: These two commands modify differently the selected structure:
  • Replace by Latest revision :
    • The selected objects are replaced by their latest revision.
    • Their structure is updated as per their latest revision.
  • Manage Latest Revisions :
    • The selected objects are replaced by their latest revision.
    • Their structure is updated as per their latest revision, and the children in this updated structure are also replaced by their own latest revision.


Before you begin: Create an object (product or 3D part) with a revision.

  1. Select an object.

    Tips:
    • Multiselection is available with Replace Items by Latest Revision and for objects of the same type.
    • To select the old versions to replace, use the Major Revisions Status B.I.

  2. From the Product Modification section of the action bar, click Replace Items by Latest Revision .

    Tip: For mono-selection, Replace by Latest Revision command is also available from the context menu.

    Note: Depending on the context, a Replace Analyzer dialog box can appear to propose contextual options. See Managing Replace Options.

    The object is replaced by its latest revision.

    Note: If the command is launched on an object with no revision or an object already in its latest revision, a Warning panel is displayed.

    Warning: The instance name (displayed in the Properties dialog box) is not updated. The previous instance name is kept.
