Working with PartSupply

You can open, insert, and replace PartSupply components in Product Structure Design.

Important: The following operations cannot be performed on an imported PartSupply component: edit, change maturity, revise, branching, duplicate, transfer, reserve, delete.


Before you begin:
  • Make sure you have a license to access PartSupply.
  • For replacing or inserting PartSupply components, open a product in Product Structure Design. For more information, see Opening a Product.
    Note: You do not need to open a product to open a PartSupply component. The selected component is automatically opened in Product Structure Design.
  1. To display the PartSupply panel, do one of the following:

    • From the Search box, click PartSupply Search.
    • From the 3DCompass, click either World or Me and click As a Business Model > Trading Experiences > PartSupply Components As a Service.
    Note: If you are working on-premises, you need to log in to your 3DEXPERIENCE account.

  2. From the PartSupply panel, select the component to be imported. If no part has been imported, the command imports the component in the common collaborative space.

    Tip: To search for a component, use the search bar and use the 6WTags to refine the search.

  3. Click one of the following commands:
    CommandsDescription
    Open Opens the selected component in a new tab.
    Insert Inserts the selected component in the product tree.
    Note: Select the component under which to insert the new part by clicking the component in the tree. You can select it either before or after clicking Insert.
    Replace Replaces a component from the product tree by the selected component.
    Note: Select the component to be replaced by clicking the component in the tree. You can select it either before or after clicking Replace.
