Transfer Report for Import Scenarios

The transfer report that is generated at the end of each coexistence / migration transfer helps in understanding vital information about the migration process. It provides information about metacontent and representation transfer status.

Transfer Information

The transfer information section has import-related details:

Displays the number of objects created, updated, not modified or deleted.
Report IDThe unique identifier of the transfer process.
CreationDisplays the creation date of the report.

ScenarioDisplays the name of the scenario: either Migration or Coexistence.
Connection parametersDisplays source and target PDM connection parameters.

Transfer optionsDisplays the behaviors used during the transfer.
TransactionsDisplays the number of transactions.
Global error Displays an error message. If you get a global error message, the transfer is aborted.
Warning messagesThese messages do not inhibit the operations involved.

Migration Scope Build Report

The migration scope build report helps in checking what content was added to the initial scope. This report containing import information and details for the representations section appears after clicking the Completion of source Scope for Rep migration link.

In the Import Information section, click after Scope Builder to view the scope completion details. The following table lists the symbols in the Import Information section and their meaning:

In the Details for the representations section, use or to expand or collapse messages in the details for the representations section. You can access the list of representations pointed by a representation and also the representation pointing it. The attributes of the representations displayed in the report come from the tree masks.

Transfers State and Transaction Report

The Transfers State section contains the name of the transaction and a link to the transaction report. It also contains two options to show all transfers or only error transfers:

  • Show all transfers: Lists the names of all content transfers along with links to transaction reports.
  • Show all error transfers: Lists the names of only error transfers along with links to transaction reports.

The transaction report provides information concerning the metacontent transfers from the V5 database to the V6 database:

Migration Reports

The migration reports section consists of a link to the global representation migration report, which contains information regarding the transfer of each representation.

The symbols in the Details for the package section for error report are explained in the table below:

PackagePackage number. The packages appear based on the split option set in Tools > Options > File-based Design Import > Performance tab. Click the package number to display the detailed representation migration report of that particular package.
ContentNumber and type of component migrated.
ConversionConversion of document within the package.
  • - Step succeeded for the package.
  • - Step succeeded for the package with a warning.
  • - Step for the package failed.
SaveSave status for documents in V6 database.
  • - Documents were successfully saved.
  • - Step was not executed for the package.
TimeInfoStart time for package import and time taken for import.
