Assessing the Business Values from a Selection Type

You can get an assessment of the predefined KPIs using Weight and Balance in Product Performance Assessment.

This app gives you access to the multi-KPI view and lets you analyze the KPIs like in the 3DDashboard, making the 3DEXPERIENCE content sharing and collaboration easier. When you work on a configured product, you can get a dedicated assessment for each configuration.

Before you begin:
  • Define the declared weight of the different parts of an assembly or retrieve the computed weight of the leaf products.
  • In Me > Preferences > Infrastructure > Product Finder, select Activate the Navigation Experience.
  1. To open your item including computed weight, click Search > My Content.
  2. Explore the item you have found.
The item opens in the Navigation experience tab, in ENOVIA Product Finder.
  3. From the Compass, click Product Performance Assessment.
  4. From the Data Intelligence section of the action bar, click Weight and Balance .
  5. Select a root product or an occurrence in the 3D area:

When an item is an occurrence, you can read Occurrence under its name in the tab.

Note: The inertia matrix and the center of gravity depend on the item's position. If you select an occurrence, the center of gravity is displayed in the assessment, and the value of the center of gravity is repositioned according to the root product.
  6. Select a configuration.

If you defined several configurations for the item, you can refine the KPI computation according to this configuration. You can also compare different configurations.

Tip: When your component has more than six configurations, a search box is displayed and you can search for the configuration you want to work on before entering Weight and Balance.

The web page displays the consolidated KPIs for this chosen item. If you hover over the chart, a tooltip displays the KPI values.
  7. To check the name of the preselected configuration in Weight and Balance, after entering the Business Value Assessment command, click Edit Filter in the title bar.

The orange figure on the filter icon indicates that a (default) configuration has been defined for the item. The information is only available in an authoring session (not in a navigating session).

    1. To change the default configuration in Weight and Balance, click Edit Filter .
The Filters dialog box is displayed at the bottom of the Weight and Balance web page. In the Configuration tab, there is the list of the existing configurations.
    2. Select another configuration (Conf2 for example) in the list.
The name of the Conf2 is displayed at the bottom of the dialog box. To withdraw this selection, click .
    3. To launch the KPI computation, click Apply.
The web page displays the consolidated KPIs for your product, taking the selected configuration into account. If you hover over the chart, a tooltip displays the KPI values.
    4. To compare two item configurations, click two tabs with different configurations .
    5. Click Apply.
The web page displays the consolidated KPIs.
    6. Click Add to Comparison from the tab options .
For more information, see Compare two Items .
  8. To see the KPI values in a tooltip, hover over the labels.
  9. To drill down in the structure, select a given element in the tree.
The page automatically displays the secondary analytics for this element.
    Important:
    • If you have selected a configuration, its name appears in the blue bar, in a gray label on the right side of the selected element. Take a snapshot is not available.
    • The KPI information is the same as the one displayed in Weight and Balance in the 3DDashboard. See Assessing the Weight.
    • However, some capabilities differ from the 3DDashboard: In Product Performance Assessment, you can reveal items with KPI secondary analytics in the work area.
  10. To assess the risks or opportunities for the weight KPI, do the following:
    1. Select a KPI.
    2. Click Anticipate .
A time chart displays the following information:

Target value line: The black line appears on the chart when a target exists.

Worst case curve: A combination of all possible risks.

Best case curve: A combination of all possible opportunities.

All events occur curve: A combination of opportunities and risks without considering probabilities.

Statistical Prediction curve: A combination of opportunities and risks considering their probabilities.

Notes: You can hover over the points on the red or green lines to see the risks or opportunities' name and value.
