Using a Configuration Filter

If several configurations are available for the item, you can refine the KPI computation according to a configuration. You can also compare different configurations.

Before you begin: When your component has more than six configurations, a search box is displayed enabling you to filter by name the list of configurations. You can select the configuration on which you want to work before entering Weight and Balance . The web page displays the consolidated KPIs for this chosen item. If you hover over the chart, a tooltip displays the KPI values.
  1. To obtain a dedicated assessment on a specific configuration, select a filter in the filter box.

When a filter has been applied on a product in the Product Structure Editor app via a specification filter in the 3DDashboard Web Client or via a predefined configuration in the Native Client, you do not need to redefine it in the Business Insight apps. This product is automatically taken into account with its filter, when you drag and drop it from Product Structure Editor to the Business Insight apps.

If several pre-defined filters are applied to a specific product, the Business Insight apps will display this list of filters automatically.

Note: If several kinds of filters have been applied on the product in the Product Structure Editor, and if you hover over the filter icon in the Business Insight apps, a message is displayed explaining that the configuration filter is retrieved, not the Semantic and Volume filters.
  2. To check the name of the preselected configuration in Weight and Balance, after entering the Cost IntelligenceBusiness Value Assessment command, click Edit filters in the title bar.

The orange figure on the filter icon indicates that a (default) configuration has been defined for the item. The information is only available in an authoring session (not in a navigating session).

    1. To change the default configuration in Weight and Balance , click Edit filters.
The Filters dialog box is displayed at the bottom of the Weight and Balance web page. In the Configuration tab, there is the list of the existing configurations.
    2. Select another configuration (Conf2 for example) in the list.
The name of the Conf2 is displayed at the bottom of the dialog box. To withdraw this selection, click .
    3. To launch the KPI computation, click Apply.
The web page displays the consolidated KPIs for your product, taking the selected configuration into account. If you hover over the chart, a tooltip displays the KPI values.
    4. To compare two configurations of an item, click two tabs with the configuration applied. On each tab, click Add to Comparison in tab options.
    5. Click Apply.
The web page displays the consolidated KPIs.
    6. Click Add to Comparison .
For more information, see Compare two Items .
Note: When a configuration has changed and you want to load it in the Filters dialog box, the Classic zoning type button is not available. This selection is not available because the element does not belong to the configuration.
