Using a Semantic Filter

You can filter KPI (Key Performance Indicator) results based on attribute values with the Semantic Filter option.

Attributes are a set of user-specified properties that are indexed in Exalead CloudView. The Semantic Filter helps to compute the results according to the defined values.

Before you begin: It is necessary for modifications to be entered in the metadata in the Exalead CloudView installation directory so that the correct meta can be indexed. Data should be re-indexed in CloudView by clearing the Consolidation, Indexation and restarting the connectors and CloudView.
  1. From the Compass, click the Information Intelligence Apps and select Product Performance Assessment.
    This activates Data Authoring commands.
  2. From the Data Authoring section of the action bar, click Weight and Balance .
The Weight and Balance app is displayed.
  3. Click Edit filters then Semantic in third tab of the panel.
  4. From the list, select the attributes that you want to filter and type the entry in the empty field to the right.

The number of Semantic filters applied is displayed in the lower-left corner.

    Notes:
    • Any physical entity is selectable.
    • The Weight and Balance app automatically computes and displays values of weight KPIs.
    • It is possible to filter multiple attributes.
    • The semantic filter can be applied to both reference and instance attributes.
  5. Click Apply.
The Weight, Center of Gravity, and Inertia Matrix KPIs are displayed with filtered results.
