Revealing the Center of Gravity

You can position the center of gravity point and its associated tolerance in the work area to check if the center of gravity is coherent.

When opening a new product in Business Target Definition, you can see the center of gravity objective in the spreadsheet editor. You can change the coordinates of this objective and its tolerance.

Before you begin:
  • In Me > Preferences > Infrastructure > Product Finder, select Activate the Navigation Experience.
  • Explore a part or an assembly.
  1. Search for an item, including KPI values, in the 3DSearch text box.
  2. Right-click it from the search result and select Explore.
  3. From the Compass, select Information Intelligence Apps and click Product Performance Assessment.
  4. From the Business Insight section of the action bar, click Weight and Balance .
  5. Select the root item under the Navigation experience node.
  6. Click the center of gravity KPI.
  7. Click the coordinates to reveal the assessment.
    Two contextual commands appear on the coordinates: 3D reveal the center of gravity and Cancel selection and reveal
  8. Click 3D reveal the center of gravity .
    The center of gravity is revealed as a sphere around the center of gravity point. It represents the tolerance around the center of gravity point.

  9. To hide the center of gravity point and come back to the normal view of the geometry, click Cancel selection and reveal .
