Creating a Square-Butt Weld (Prepared Parts)

Using Square-Butt Weld (Prepared Parts) and a square profile, you can create a square-butt weld with prepared parts.

  1. Select the prepared face, and then, the neutral face of the first part.

  2. Select the prepared face of the other part.

  3. Optional: To trim the geometry, select the limits.
  4. Optional: Enter a width value.
  5. Optional: To extend the weld, enter an extrapolation length.
  6. Optional: To specify a dashed weld, click the Type tab and select a creation mode.
  7. Optional: To define the shape of the weld, click the Manufacturing tab and select an option. The shape defines the weld seam shape representation in drafting context. If you select Convex or Concave , specify a curvature value in Offset.
  8. Optional: To let the Drafting app retrieve the sides on which the weld is created, select an option:

    Single Specifies a weld created on one side only.
    Double Specifies a weld created on both sides.
    The corresponding symbol is extracted and displayed on the drawings.
