About PowerViews

PowerView pages contain channels and tabs. A channel is simply a set of tabs. and the PowerView page can have any number of channels, with each channel having any number of tabs, depending on the purpose of the PowerView.

Each PowerView is designed for a specific business purpose. The PowerView could include tabs that:

  • Provide information for the current item
  • List different items managed by an app
  • Collect commonly-used item lists in one place

You can use the slider between channels to resize the window area available to each channel. In addition, you can use these icons at the top, right of a channel:

Icon Description
Maximize the channel. Makes that channel take up all of the available room in the window by hiding all other channels.
Minimize the channel. Returns a maximized channel to its normal size.
Only shows when the PowerView has more than two channels in a row, and only shows on the rightmost channel.

Hides all channels in the rightmost column, and shows the active tab name of all channels in that column in a vertical bar. For example:



Click the bar to re-open that channel.

Most tabs in a PowerView include on the page toolbar.
