Entering Multiple Values

Some fields let you add more than one value.

Before you begin: When editing a page, only fields that show a blue triangle, or + / - icons, let you enter more than one value.
  1. View a create or edit page that includes a multivalue field.
  2. If you see a blue triangle:

Type the first value, then press Enter. Continue typing values and pressing Enter as needed. Tab to another field, or click outside of the box to complete the text entry. The values you enter show on a single line separated by commas.

By default, the comma is used to separate values when displaying on one line and as saved in the database. Your Business Administrator can change this from the comma. If you enter multiple values for a field, you can see what the separator (delimiter) is. You need to know what the delimiter is because if you type it when entering content, the field uses it as a delimiter and not as part of the value.

If you enter multiple values for a field in a search dialog box, the search looks for any of the values (an OR search), not all of the entered values.
  3. If you see and icons:

    • To enter a single value, enter the needed value then continue filling out the form.
    • To enter an additional value, click . The page adds another input area. You can add as many input areas as needed.
    • To delete a row, click for that row. This button clears the value and removes the content input area. You cannot delete the first content input area.

When authorized values have been provided for the field, you can select the value from a list. The displayed values might not show in alphabetic order. The app uses the values used in the database, not the display values, to sort the values.

  4. Click Save. Any content input area you added but did not enter a value for is removed.
