Copy Component with Mates

You can create additional instances of a component in an assembly and include its mates from the original instance. You do not have to recreate the mates for each new instance. You can include or replace the existing mates with the component.

Before you begin:

Create, insert, or open an existing component.

  1. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Copy With Mates .
  2. Select one or more components you want to copy.
The mates associated with the selected components are listed in the Copy Component With Mates dialog box. If the component does not include mates, no other options are displayed in the dialog box. By default, component mates are copied. Depending on the component, the following mate types might be listed.
