You can use the Design Assistance for Sketch to quickly
duplicate the selected sketch objects and entities to multiple locations that have similar
surrounding characteristics.
Before you begin: Sketch your geometry. This procedure uses the following sketch.
Context: The Selection HelperSettings
within the tool allow you to adjust the suggestions based on the
sketch entity's characteristics.
From an active sketch, click the sketch entities you want to duplicate and select the
Design Assistance for Sketch
from the context toolbar.
The Selection Helper bar displays. The number of
suggestions display in the color blue.
In
this example, the circle sketch entity is selected. The white dot is the handle, which
can be dragged to other vertices where the Robot handle can be placed for alternative
suggestions. The yellow entities are the suggested entities to add.
Optional:
Click Settings
in the Design Assistance for Sketch to
access the settings and adjust the suggestions based on your needs.
Symmetry - Displays sketch entity suggestions at locations with
symmetrical surrounding geometry.
Symmetry - on (default)
Symmetry - off
Optional:
Click Show Similar Drop Locations
to display target locations in the sketch where placing the
handle offers more suggestions.
Optional:
Drag the Design Assistance handle to targets in the sketch to
display suggestions based on the relative positioning between the handle and the seed
sketch entity.
The handle is now on the rectangle. The new suggestions are based on the
location of the circle in reference to the target.
Optional:
Click a yellow suggested sketch entity to remove that suggested entity.
Any other suggested entities continue to display.
Click in the Design Assistancecontext toolbar to accept the suggestions and close in the Design Assistance.
Make any edits to the sketch and click Exit Sketch
when
finished.
