Extending a Surface

You can extend a sketch object or body surface a specified distance.

  1. From the Surfaces section of the action bar, click Extend Surface .
  2. In the Extend Surface dialog box, select the edge you want to extend.
  3. Select how you want the surface to extend.
    OptionDescription
    Natural Extends the surface following the current path of the edge.
    Tangent Extends the surface tangent to the current plane.
    Curvature Extends the surface to the selected body.
  4. Specify the distance you want to surface to extend.
    OptionDescription
    Blind Extends the surface for the specified distance.
    Up to Geometry Extends the surface to the selected plane, feature, or sketch entity.
    Up to Body Extends the surface to the selected body.
  5. To extend the surface to all faces that are tangent to the selected face, in the Surface Extend dialog box, select Tangent Propagation.
