Saving to DXF

You can save one or more parallel faces as DXF files. This is useful in the manufacturing process for specifying views and all their faces.

Before you begin: Save the latest changes to your model before exporting to a DXF file.
  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Save as DXF .
  2. (Optional) In the File name text field, enter a new file name. The default file name is the name of the model in the Design Manager.
  3. Select the location to save the file to:
    OptionDescription
3DDrive Saves to a 3DDrive folder. You can also get a link to the file in 3DDrive to share.
File on Disk Saves to a local file on your computer.
  4. (Optional) In the Spline tolerance text field, enter a value between 0 and 500,000 mm. Lower values create more spline points to define curves, resulting in greater accuracy in the exported file. The default is 1 mm.
  5. Click in the work area to select parallel faces in your model to export. You cannot select nonparallel faces.
  6. Click Save.
