Managing Access Rights

You can provide access to your catalogs, datasets, or data sources to users and manage their access rights.

Users that have access to children datasets, catalogs, data sources, or activities inherit by default from their parents' access rights and appear in the Inheriting parents section of the Access rights tab. This can revoked in the inheriting parents menu.

Note:
  • If you delete a resource, the inheritance disappears.
  • If you try to detach (and not delete) the resource, an error message invites you to first remove the inheritance link preventing the detach operation.
  • Activities’ inheritance with their datasets cannot be broken.

  1. In the My Catalogs, My Datasets or Data sources tab, select an item.
  2. In the item panel, click Access Rights.
  3. Click to add a user or a User Group and enter a user name or group name in the Viewers, Editors, or Managers section.
