Copying a Specialization Element's Full Name

You can copy the full name of any type, attributes group, extension, or attribute to your clipboard.

The full name allows you to perform operations outside Enterprise IP Schema Specialization that manipulate specialization elements, for example, to create business rules or define masks.

The full name of any specialization element is composed of its name followed by the universally unique identifier (UUID) that Enterprise IP Schema Specialization automatically appended to the end of the name when the element was created. This UUID makes sure that each specialization element name is unique.

A full name looks as follows: ElementName__[UUID]. For example: MyVPMReference__b4e0c3625e344627830f0bf9f845eb5b

  1. Open the type, attributes group, extension, or attribute whose full name you want to copy.
  2. From the top right-hand corner of the widget, click Copy [specialization element] full name to clipboard.

The full name is copied to your clipboard.

You can now paste this full name in another app.
Important: Some apps may require you to only paste the UUID part of the full name. For more information, see the user's guide of the app you want to paste the full name into.
