Geometric Accuracy

Within an assembly, the Geometric Accuracy B.I. reveals the CATIA V4, CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE origin of 3D geometries and drawings.

Important: To import CATIA V5 Exact data, CATIA V5 Approximated data and CATIA V4 Exact models, select the Native Import option in the CoexistenceBatch. For more information, see the ENOVIAvpm Coexistence and Migration User's Guide.

Color Code

When the Geometric Accuracy B.I. is selected, the following colors are applied to the objects in the tree and in the 3D area:

Color Signification Description

3DEXPERIENCE Exact This object is:
  • Created with 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Editable in design mode

3DEXPERIENCE Approximated This object is:
  • Created with 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Available in visualization mode

CATIA V5 Exact This object is created with CATIA V5.

Note that CATIA V5 Exact 3D geometry and specifications can be accessed, opened (read-only), and then used by 3DEXPERIENCE apps (with associativity if needed).

CATIA V5 Approximated This object is:
  • Created with CATIA V5
  • Available in visualization mode
Note that:
  • CATIA V5 Exact 3D geometry and specifications cannot be accessed
  • CATIA V5 drawings cannot be opened, and can only be visualized in Product Finder

CATIA V4 Exact This object is created with CATIA V4.

Note that CATIA V4 Exact models (3D and drawings) can be accessed, opened (read-only), and then used by 3DEXPERIENCE apps.

Missing GeometryMissing object.

Example: CATIA V5 object that is not completely migrated in 3DEXPERIENCE or has some migration error.

Label

When the Geometric Accuracy B.I. is selected and you select an object in the 3D area, a label is displayed that contains the following information:

  • Representation name
  • Type of data
  • Icon
