Upgrading 3DDashboard

This section describes how to upgrade to the latest 3DDashboard level.

Note: If 3DDashboard has multiple instances in Production, upgrade one instance at a time.

This task shows you how to:

Upgrade 3DDashboard directly from R2016xFDx, where x>1

  1. Make a backup of the database
  2. Ensure the templates directory does not contain any images.

If it contains images, make a backup of the following directory:

    • <3DDashboardInstallPath>\win_b64\templates on Windows
    • <3DDashboardInstallPath>/linux_a64/templates on Linux.

  3. Uninstall the previous 3DDashboard level.
  4. Reinstall the latest 3DDashboard level (R2022x GA in our case).

During the installation, specify the parameters of the previous database.

Note: Use the same URL for 3DDashboard during upgrade, otherwise 3DNotifications created for the previous release may open in a new tab with a message indicating that the page is unavailable.

  5. Copy the images from the directory backup of the previous level (applicable to R2016x or above only) to the templates directory under the shared location you are prompted to specify during the R2022x installation:

    • C:\DassaultSystemes\3DDashboardData\templates on Windows
    • /share/DassaultSystemes/3DDashboardData/templates on Linux.

You do not need to copy the fragment file from the previous installation.

Upgrade 3DDashboard directly from R2017x

  1. Make a backup of the shared data directory and database.
  2. Uninstall the previous 3DDashboard level.
  3. Reinstall the latest 3DDashboard level (R2022x GA in our case).

    During the installation:

    • specify the parameters of the previous database.
    • specify the previous shared data directory.
Note: Use the same URL for 3DDashboard during upgrade, otherwise 3DNotifications created for the previous release may open in a new tab with a message indicating that the page is unavailable.
