Create a Shared Folder

Shared folder has the same meaning on Linux and Windows. On Windows, the share mechanism is used, and on Linux, the directory is exported and mounted on the client machine.

Create a shared folder name to be used for storing data.

For example:

  • \\machineName\shared_directory\3NotificationData on Windows
  • /share/DassaultSystemes/3NotificationData on Linux

The folder should be sized large enough to store media. It is also used to share certain configuration files across 3DNotification machines.

The x3ds applicative user must own this shared folder, which must be shared and accessible in read/write mode, and mounted the same way (using same path) from all the machines that are part of the 3DNotification installation.
