Configuring 2-Factor Authentication

This section describes how to configure 2-factor authentication (2FA). This feature is available on premise and private cloud.

This task shows you how to:

Allowing users to use 2-factor authentication

2-FA(2-factor authentication) is a technique allowing you to improve 3DEXPERIENCE platform access security by allowing users to choose to implement, if desired, an extra login step involving the use of a TOTP-compliant app on their personal mobile device.

  1. Click Security, then 2-Factor Authentication tab.

    By default, the Allow users to use 2-factor authentication check box is not selected.

  2. Click Allow users to use 2-factor authentication, then click Apply.

    A confirmation message is displayed.

Force users to use 2-factor authentication

The administrator can also enforce 2FA implementation for all members of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

  1. Click Security, then 2-Factor Authentication tab.
  2. Click Force users to use 2-Factor Authentication, then click Apply.

    The Allow users to use 2-factor Authentication is automatically checked, and a confirmation message is displayed.

Allow users to define trusted computers for 2-factor authentication purposes

  1. Click Security, then the 2-Factor Authentication tab.
  2. Click Allow users to define trusted computers for 2-Factor Authentication purposes, then click Apply.

    A confirmation message is displayed.
