Navigating the Immersion Scenario in VR

You can get an immersive experience of content using VR (Virtual Reality). For this, you need the HTC© Vive™ HMD (Head-Mounted Display) device.


Before you begin: You must have a certified configuration with a high-end VR-compatible graphics card. Plug the HTC Vive device. Then, in 3DPlay, open the model you want to explore.
  1. From the standard area of the action bar, click Scenario Chooser and select Immersion.
  2. Put on the headset.
  3. Optional: In the action bar, click Synchronize HMD Camera to synchronize the viewpoint of the HTC Vive headset with the viewpoint displayed on the screen.
  4. To choose between the Explore, Navigation, or Report activity, proceed as follows:
    1. Hold the top button on the controller in your dominant hand.
    2. Move the controller near the activity of your choice.
    3. Release the top button.
  5. To explore the model, choose a command on the controller in your non-dominant hand.
  6. Proceed as explained in step 4, this time choosing the Navigation activity.
  7. To navigate around the model, choose a command on the controller in your non-dominant hand.
  8. Proceed as explained in step 4, this time choosing the Report activity.
  9. To annotate, draw strokes with the controller in your dominant hand while holding the trigger. Releasing the trigger ends the stroke.
  10. To change the brush color or size, move the controller in your dominant hand toward the required color or size on the palette, and pull the trigger to validate.
  11. To erase strokes, use the commands available with the controller in your dominant hand.
  12. In the action bar, click Start/Stop Connection to end the projection on the HTC Vive headset.
