Defining Object Effectivity

Effectivity can be defined when creating a new object or when editing an existing object. Users define effectivity for objects that are configured to use Configuration and Effectivity Services. When objects are configured to use effectivity, controls for defining or editing effectivity appear in table pages that have an Effectivity column.

On premises only: Business Administrators can configure effectivity for any object.

  1. Create or open an object configured to use effectivity.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Enable Edit .
    Certain properties of the object, including the Effectivity, are now editable.
  3. Click in the Effectivity column, then click .

    The Edit Effectivity Definition window opens.

  4. Build the effectivity expression. See Build an Effectivity Expression.
  5. Click Validate to verify that your effectivity expression is valid.
  6. Click Done when you have a complete, valid effectivity expression to save it.
    The effectivity expression is shown in the Effectivity column.
