Proposed Changes Page

The Proposed Changes page displays all parts and specifications attached as proposed changes to a change object.

To access this page:

  1. Search for and select a change object. See Predefined Queries.
  2. Click the Proposed Changes tab to see items related to the context change item.

Fields

Column Description
Name Name of the item.
Revision Revision number or code.
Type The item type and can be any type of part or specification.
Description Details about the item.
State Current state of the item in its lifecycle.
Owner Person who has responsibility for the item.
Prerequisite Shown only if Manufacturing BOM Management is installed and there are any "For Update" change orders for a "For Minor Revise" change order. Click on any highlighted link in this column to go to the Properties page for the change order.
Assignee The person responsible for the proposed change .
Design Responsibility Organization that has design responsibility
Requested Change The reason the change is requested. By default, values can be: For Obsolescence, For Release, For Minor Revise, None.
Change Desc Detains about the requested change
Target Start Date The value of the Target Start Date on the proposed change relationship. Indicates the date from which the changes will be in effect when the change request is completed.

Documents section:

Ver For specification types only, the version number of the document
Actions For specification types only, this column contains icons representing actions that you can perform on the document such as download, check out, check in. For subscriptions, shows icons representing events such as revised, modified, deleted, content added, content modified, content deleted, content checked out and new discussion.
Lock For specification types only, shows an icon that indicates whether or not the document is locked

Connected items

To limit the number of items shown, click and select a number from the list. You can also click to expand all. If Manufacturing BOM Management is installed, this will expand all nodes and show the connected markup items.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

Command Description
Enable Edit mode For part types only, switches the table to edit mode to edit the attributes Requested Change, Change Description, and Target Start Date. This command is available only for the owner of the change item. See Editing Proposed Changes.
Substitute Mass Change Opens the Mass BOM Update form where you can replace or remove substitute components in the assembly.
Create New Revision Creates a new revision for selected items that have a Request Change value of "Revise." A confirmation message is shown. Click OK. (This command is unavailable for MECOs.)
Split Delegate Assignment Lets you search for and add a person to the list of assignees. This will replace the existing user for checked items with the one selected from the search results. See Predefined Queries.
Download For specification types only, downloads the file from the checked item. If more than one item is checked then all files from all selected items are zipped and then downloaded.
Checkout For specification types only, downloads and locks the file from the checked item. If more than one item is checked then all files from all selected items are zipped and then downloaded.
Remove To remove proposed changes from the list, check the items you want to remove and click Remove. A confirmation message is shown. Click OK to continue. This removes the relationship between the proposed change and the change object, but does not delete the item from the database.
Add Existing Part Routing and Work Center Shown only if Device Master Record Management is installed. You should include all Work Centers for any selected Part Routing. See Device Master Record Management User's Guide: Adding Proposed Changes to a CO.
Add Related Part Routings and Work Centers Shown only if Device Master Record Management is installed, for the selected Part or Part Routing, adds related Part Routings and Work Centers. Opens a window listing the available Part Routings and Work Centers. See Device Master Record Management User's Guide: Adding Proposed Changes to a CO.
Add Plant Related Parts Shown only if Device Master Record Management is installed, for the selected part, opens a window listing the related parts from the DMR View. See Device Master Record Management User's Guide: Adding Proposed Changes to an CO.

Tools Menu

The tools menu items are described below.

Command Description
. (Mass Promote icon).

Promotes selected items to the next state in their lifecycle. (This is not available for markups. Instead, select one or more markups and use the Approve command under the Markup Actions icon in the toolbar.)

. (Mass Demote icon). Demotes selected items to the previous state in their lifecycle. (This is not available for markups. Instead, select one or more markups and use the Reject command from the Markup Actions menu.)

Markup Actions Menu

The Mark up Actions menu commands are described below.

Command Description
Open Opens the markup. (Not available if the Type is set to Markup.)
Reject Sets the markup state to "Rejected."
Approve Sets the markup state to "Approved."
Change Owner Lets you search for and select a new owner for the markup. Select a person from the search results and click Submit.
Merge Combines the selected markups into a new markup. (Not available if the Type is set to Markup.)
Apply Applies the markup to the BOM. (Not available if the Type is set to Markup.)
Delete Deletes the markup.

Assign to ECO Menu

Click the following from the Assign to ECO menu on the ECR Proposed Changes tab, only when the ECR is in the Plan ECO state:

Command Description
Add Existing Lets you search for an existing ECO. The selected proposed changes are added to the selected ECO. See Predefined Queries.

Move to CR Menu

The Move to CR menu commands are described below.

Command Description
Create New Opens the Create CR form.
Add Existing Lets you search for an existing CR.
