Filtering a List

You can filter the lists of parts, specifications, and reference documents in My Engineering View using the engineering dashboard. The filter can display up to 5000 records at a time. The applied filter criteria are shown in the header of the My Engineering View and the number of returned objects is shown in the footer.


Before you begin: To open the engineering dashboard, select the My Engineering View category, and click the arrow in the center of the right border of your screen.
  1. In the dashboard, expand the Items section and click for the item list to filter.
    The Search Criteria dialog box appears to the right of the dashboard list.
  2. Specify the criteria in one or more of the fields described below:

    NameRestricts the list to parts or specifications with the name you specify. In the field, type a name. Names can include wildcard characters, such as 001* or *-Version 8. The default is *, which includes all names.
    TitleA common word or phrase used to identify the part, such as "large rubber gasket".
    TypeRestricts the list to a specified type or subtype. Click to select a subtype.
    Phase (parts only)Either Development or Production.
    OwnerThe person who owns the part.
    PolicyRestricts the list to a specified object policy, adhering to the type of object that you select.
    StateSelect one or more lifecycle states.
    Query LimitEnter a value to indicate the maximum number of records to return. You can enter up to 5000 as a query limit.
  3. Click Done.
    The Manufacturer Equivalent Parts page lists the parts that meet the characteristics you selected.
    Note: The thin solid frame around the Show Search or Specification Display Criteria icon becomes a thick frame when search criteria are applied to the list.
