Updating Part Revisions in a List or BOM

You can update a part to a later revision in either a list or in an EBOM.

This task shows you how to:

Open an EBOM that includes one or more parts that has a later revision. The later revision can be either released or unreleased.

Update a Part to Its Latest Revision

You can update the revision of a part to its latest revision, regardless of whether the new revision is released or unreleased.

In the EBOM tab, select the Enable Edit Mode icon in the toolbar.
To update specific parts in the list, select the parts to update. To update all parts in the list, select nothing.
Select the Replace by icon in the toolbar and select Replace by Latest Revision.

You can update a part to its latest released revision.

In the EBOM tab, select the Enable Edit Mode icon in the toolbar.
Do one of:
- To update a specific instance of a part in the list, select that part to update.
  Only the instance of the part you select will be updated. Other instances of the part in the list, if any, will remain unchanged.
- To update all instances of all parts throughout the BOM (or parts list), select nothing.
Select the Replace by icon in the toolbar and select Replace by Latest Released Revision.

You can update a part you select to a later revision.

In the EBOM tab, select the Enable Edit Mode icon in the toolbar.
In the list, right-click the part to update and select Replace by Selected Revision.
In the dialog box that opens, select the revision to which to update the part.

You can update multiple parts to a later revision.

In the EBOM tab, select the Enable Edit Mode icon in the toolbar.
Select the Replace By icon in the toolbar and select Manage Latest Revisions.
In the dialog that opens, select for each part the revision to which you want to update.
