You can create a new ambience starting from the one that is assigned to the active
scene. The newly created ambience automatically replaces the ambience of the active
scene.
-
Click Create Ambience
in the action bar.
The Ambience Creation dialog box opens, showing the
ambience from the active scene as a starting point.
-
Drag the HDR or 2D backplate image (in .png, .jpg, or .jpeg format) that you want to
use for lighting and reflections from 3DDrive or your local storage to the drop zone, or use Browse
.
If you drag an image to the viewer, it is automatically applied as lighting and
background.
The image is added as thumbnail to the second position of the switcher on the
right. It is marked as active and visible in the preview as well as in the viewer on the
left. The top entry always shows the default image coming from the scene ambience.
- Optional:
Activate the Background switch.
The background section is no longer grayed out.

Background.
Exposure and Rotation are linked to
the properties of the background. If you chose a 2D image as background, you cannot
specify any properties.
-
Click Create.
The finite ambience environment you defined by the selected
image or images is saved in the 3DEXPERIENCE
Platform. In addition, the newly created ambience automatically replaces the ambience of the
active scene. You can find the ambience in the content panel.
Note:
If the scene already
contains one or more products, the new ambience is automatically positioned in a way that
fits its ground as best as possible to the lowest product in the scene. This is not the
case when you assign an ambience that already exists in the Experience to a scene.
