About Ambience Types

In xStudio you can use two different types of ambiences, either with a 3D background or with a 2D backplate.

A corresponding icon indicates the ambience type in the content panel:

	Ambience with 3D Background The background image is mapped to a dome that surrounds your Experience. Thus by navigating in the viewer the background changes accordingly. The Lighting image is also used as background image.
	Ambience with 2D Backplate A backplate is a fixed 2D image. The backplate image stays unchanged during the navigation in the viewer.
	Ambience with 3D Background - Lighting and Background Separated This ambience contains two different images: Lighting image - light staging for the product of the current Scene; Background image - background staging for the current Scene; Specifying the properties of both images separately from each other, gives you a greater artistic control and flexibility for the ambience tweaking. 	Ambience with 2D Backplate - Lighting and Background Separated This ambience type contains three images: Lighting image - light staging for the product of the current Scene; Background image - not relevant if the backplate is enabled; Backplate image - background staging for the current Scene; Either the background image or the backplate image can be shown in the viewer.
