Properties for Alternate Products

You can view the properties of an alternate product that has been added to a product. Properties include the alternate product's usage, and its associate change action (if any). To view the properties for an alternate product:

  1. In the child product list, select the primary product, which is the product that the alternate product replaces.
  2. Click Information and select the Alternate tab.
  3. Click Menu in the alternate product's identity card and select Alternate Properties.

Property Description
Type The object type: Alternate Reference
Name The name of the alternate product
Description Information about the alternate product
Revision The revision of the alternate product assigned to the primary product
Title The title of the alternate product in reference to the primary product
Owner The alternate product owner
Creation Date Date on which the alternate product was created
Modification Date Date on which the alternate product was last modified
Organization The group or company that owns the alternate product
Collaborative Space The collaborative space in which the alternate product resides
Maturity State The lifecycle state of the alternate product.

Change Tab

Property Description
Change Required If there is no open change action for the alternate product, a slider appears in this field. You can select the slider to modify the change required setting. If there is an open change action for the alternate product, the change action is listed.
Release Authorization This field indicates whether the alternate product is Released using a change action. If the alternate product has been Released, the change action identity card and approval status appear.

Property Description
Primary Item The name and revision of the product that the alternate product replaces
Alternate Item The title and revision of the alternate product
Usage Details The proposed usage, (all usages, all instances under the open product, or only selected instances)
Maturity State The lifecycle state of the alternate product.
