Locking Components

In a collaborative environment, you can lock a physical product or geometry that you are working on to prevent others from making changes to it.

Note: Consider the following conditions when working with components:
  • After making a new component, you need to save it first to view or change its reservation status.
  • In the collaborative environment, you can open and edit the component locked by another user but you cannot save it.
  • If multiple users are working on the same component, you are prompted to Update the component if it is not up-to-date with the latest changes.
  • You can lock the component after updating it.
  • If the component is up-to-date, the lock is applied preventing other users from making edits that might conflict with your changes.
