Do one of the following:
- To create a variant within the context of Enterprise Variability:
- From the left navigation pane, select Enterprise Variability.
- Select the Variants tab.
- From the page toolbar, click Create Variant.
- To create a variant within the context of a model version and
automatically allocate it to the model version, do the following:
- From the left navigation pane, select My Model Versions.
- Open the model version. For more information, see Opening a Model Version.
- Select the Variability tab.
- From the page toolbar, click .

Enter a title for the new variant.

Optional: Enter a description of the variant.

Optional: To select an image for the new variant, do one of the
following:
- Drag an image into the Image field.
- Click Upload Image, browse to the image, then
click Open.

To create the variant, do one of the following:
- Click Create to create a single variant.
Your
variant is created and the dialog box closes.
- Click Create another to create a variant using
the current information, then be able to create additional variants.
Your
variant is created when you click Create another.
The dialog box remains open so that you can create another variant by
changing the information.
If you create a variant within the context of a model version, it is
automatically selected and allocated to that model version. It is also available
in Enterprise Variability to be allocated to other model
versions. If the Information pane is open, the
Values tab opens. If the newly added variant is not
visible in the viewport, then the view scrolls to show it.
A new variant is created with a system-generated Name and
the specified Title. Variants are created in the Preliminary
lifecycle state.
