About Import

You can transfer the PLM data available in XPDMXML to 3DEXPERIENCE platform using XPDMImportExportBatch.

Following bulk data directory location path values are supported for <Location/> attribute in XPDMXML.xml.

  • Absolute directory path
  • UNC directory path
  • Relative directory path

Do not use following characters in <ID></ID> attribute:

  • semicolon (;)
  • quotation mark ("", '')
  • apostrophe (`)
  • comma (,)
  • greater than (>)
  • less than (<)
  • asterisk (*)
  • colon (:)
  • question mark (?)
  • backslash (\)
  • vertical bar (|)
  • slash (/)

Note:
  • You cannot import a customized 3DShape using 3DEXPERIENCE content with CAD master mode (without Geometrical Conversion Mode).
  • When you run an import batch on 3DEXPERIENCE, unreferenced files are getting exported into the directory, where all the exported files are present. These files are not referenced anywhere in the VPM V5 exported xPDM xml file, and should be deleted from the directory to facilitate the import.
  • When you try to import the data from XPDM to 3DEXPERIENCE, modular attributes like Part Number, Mass, Volume, created in a dashboard application like Engineering Release app, are also getting imported along with the basic attributes.
  • Functional data, logical data, and fastener objects are not supported for import using XPDMImportExportBatch.
  • The value of XPDMXML attribute ID cannot be empty.
