Report and Log Files for STEP PDM

Report and log files are generated after every transfer of data from 3DEXPERIENCE platform to STEP PDM and vice-versa. The report and log files help to find the root-cause of failure of data exchange.

Following reports and log files are generated during X-PDM exchanges involving STEPPDMImport or STEPPDMExport:

Reports and logs Description File name

STEPPDMExport report

Summary of STEPPDMExport execution in an xml format.

To be opened in a web browser.

The file name comes from the Report Name box in STEPPDMExport user interface and can be modified in the batch input file.
STEPPDMImport report

Summary of STEPPDMImport execution in an xml format.

To be opened in a web browser.

The file name comes from the Report Name box in STEPPDMImport user interface and can be modified in the batch input file.

Transfer report

Summary report of the transfer. It gives a detailed information about server transactions and stream conversions (V5 and X-CAD)

To be opened in a web browser.

ReportName__Report_<timestamp>\ProcessReport.xml

X-CAD converter logs

When the X-CAD converters are invoked, a detailed conversion log is generated.

To be opened in a text viewer.

  • ReportName__Report_<timestamp>\Representationname_v_wwwwwwww_xxx_yyyyyyy_zzzza.err.txt
  • ReportName__Report_<timestamp>\Representationname_v_wwwwwwww_xxx_yyyyyyy_zzzza.rpt.txt

Note: When a conversion failure occurs, a link between the associated representation object and the conversion log is given in the transaction section of the transfer report.

All the above logs file are generated directly in the <Report Directory> folder, incase of transferring data from 3DEXPERIENCE platform to STEP PDM and vice-versa using STEPPDMImport or STEPPDMExport .

Note: In this case only STEPPDMImport or STEPPDMExport report, transfer report and X-CAD converter logs are generated in this folder.

Where, <Report Directory> is the path mentioned in the Report directory box in the STEPPDMImportBatch or STEPPDMExportBatch user interface during connection parameter file generation or batch execution.
