Installing Adapter for X-PDM Foundation

This section describes how to install Adapter for X-PDM Foundation.

Note: The installation procedure is same for both Windows and Unix.


Before you begin: Make sure that all the prerequisites are fulfilled.

For more information, see About Installing Adapter for X-PDM Foundation.

  1. Launch setup.exe for Windows or ./StartGUI.sh for Unix to start Adapter for X-PDM Foundation installation.
    The installation panel appears.
  2. Browse and specify 3DEXPERIENCE platform Server installation directory path.

    Click Next.

  3. Browse and specify Adapter for X-PDM Foundation installation directory path.

    Click Next.

  4. Select XPC – Adapter for X-PDM Foundation and click Next.
  5. Enter the name and password of the user having both Business and System Administration Privileges.

    Click Next.

  6. Click Browse and specify the path for JDK directory.

    Click Next.

  7. Select the capabilities to enable.

    To manage:

    • E-BOM Exchange data, select the Enable E-BOM Exchanges check box.
    • Engineering Exchange data, select the Enable Engineering Exchanges check box.
    Notes:
    • Enterprise Exchange data capability is always enabled.
    • If you select Enable Engineering Exchanges:

      • It is necessary to install Engineering Adapter for X-PDM. See Installing Engineering Adapter for X-PDM
      • MUX (Engineering Adapter for X-PDM) license with prerequisite any Hi-End Native Apps based roles (MDG for example) is required for Engineering Exchange.

    Click Next.

  8. Enter the Gateway URL and click Next.
  9. Enter the X-PDM site id and click Next.

    Note: If multiple site ids are to be added, follow either of the following:

    A window appears with all the selected options.
  10. Click Install if you want to continue with the selected options else, click Back to reset the options.
    A success message appears when installation process is completed.
  11. Click Close.

    The Adapter for X-PDM Foundation installation is complete.

For manual configuration for Adapter for X-PDM Foundation proceed with Adapter for X-PDM Foundation for upgrading the installation.
