  5. Click Advanced Options...

The Advanced Options dialog box appears.

  6. Select the With geometrical conversion check box to convert native CAD files to 3DEXPERIENCE CAD files.
    Notes:
    • If you do not select this check box, the content is imported as 3DEXPERIENCE content with CAD master and you must use a native CAD platform to modify the file.
    • If you select this check box, Catalog, CATMaterial and CATDesignTable are not converted.
  7. Select Force update to forcefully update an already imported non-modified data in the database.

Note: If Force update option is selected, the Simulate Import check box is not available and vice-versa.

  8. Select Simulate Import to simulate the complete import process without saving the data in the database.
  9. Click File Object Search , to select the desired XPDMXML.xml file to be imported.
Your search results are displayed in the Object Selection area.
  10. In the Report directory box, do one of the following:

    • Enter the directory path, where the report should get saved.
    • Click Browse , to select the desired directory.

When the execution is finished, the XPDMImportExportBatch batch generates a detailed HTML report saved in the directory specified in the Report directory box. .

    Notes:
    • The HTML report displays the following information, if:
      • The selected object is processed or not.
      • The batch is executed successfully or not.
    • Fastener objects are not supported for import using XPDMImportExportBatch.
    • When you import objects using XPDMImportExportBatch, and open the imported objects in Relational Explorer, the relations are shown as Dependency.
    • You can import a catalog linked with a CATPart or a CATProduct using XPDMImportExportBatch. Import of a catalog linked with other types such as image, pdf etc. is not supported.
    • Objects imported or exported using XPDMImportExportBatch do not follow the primary and secondary revision format, if this format is used for the platform.
Tip: Do not keep the <Name> attribute empty to open 3DEXPERIENCE content with CAD master.
