From the secondary area of
Tools section of the action bar, click
Utility...
.
The
Batch Monitor dialog box appears.

Double-click
XPDMImportExportBatch from the list.
The
XPDMImportExportBatch dialog box appears.

In the
Selected Operation area, select the
Import tab.
The corresponding import options appear.

In the
Import Project list, select an appropriate
mapping context of the X-PDM system.

Click
Advanced Options...
The
Advanced Options dialog box appears.

Select the
With geometrical conversion check box to
convert native CAD files to
3DEXPERIENCE
CAD files.
Notes:
- If you do not select this check box, the content is imported
as 3DEXPERIENCE content with CAD master and you must use a native CAD platform
to modify the file.
- If you select this check box, Catalog, CATMaterial and
CATDesignTable are not converted.

Select
Force update to forcefully update an already
imported non-modified data in the database.
Note:
If
Force update option is selected, the
Simulate Import check box is not available
and vice-versa.

Select
Simulate Import to simulate the complete
import process without saving the data in the database.

Click
File Object Search
, to select the desired XPDMXML.xml file to be imported.
Your search results are displayed in the
Object Selection area.

In the
Report directory
box, do one of the following:
- Enter the directory path, where the report should get saved.
- Click
Browse
, to select the desired directory.
The
Report directory option is mandatory. By
default the current or temporary directory is selected.

Enter the name of the report in the
Report name box.

Click
Save.
The batch parameters are saved in an XML file.

Click
Run to launch the batch.
When the execution is finished, the XPDMImportExportBatch batch generates a detailed HTML
report saved in the directory specified in the Report
directory box. .
Notes:
- The HTML report displays the following information, if:
- The selected object is processed or not.
- The batch is executed successfully or not.
- Fastener objects are not supported for import using
XPDMImportExportBatch.
- When you import objects using XPDMImportExportBatch, and open the
imported objects in Relational Explorer, the relations are shown as
Dependency.
- You can import a catalog linked with a CATPart or a CATProduct using
XPDMImportExportBatch. Import of a catalog linked with other types
such as image, pdf etc. is not supported.
- Objects imported or exported using XPDMImportExportBatch do not
follow the primary and secondary revision format, if this format is
used for the platform.
