By default, the With PLMParameters check box is clear.

    Without Mapping Select

3DEXPERIENCE objects are exported without mapping their information for better performance.

    Notes:
    • Filter X-PDM Owned Objects, Only if Modified and As Specification check boxes are unavailable.
    • Exact check box is clear and unavailable for CAD format and it is available for XCAD format.
    • Tessellated check box is selected and unavailable for CAD format and it is available for XCAD format.
    • You cannot import again 3DEXPERIENCE objects that are exported without mapping.

    Clear

3DEXPERIENCE objects are exported by mapping their information.

With Process Select Process objects of PPR data are exported.
Note: With Process is enabled only for PPR MBOM data.
Clear Process objects of PPR data are not exported.

  7. In the Completion Type, select an appropriate option.

    Options Description
Default Select the Default option, to export a complete structure (as per default completion type).

By default, the Default option is selected.

Expand Select the Expand option, to export a structure as per selected expand level.

  8. In the Design File Options area, select any of the following check boxes depending on the content to export:

Options Check box Status Impact Description
    With Files Select

The files associated to geometry or document objects are exported.

By default, the With Files check box is selected.

Clear The files associated to geometry or document objects are not exported.
Note: The 3D File Format and 2D File Format lists are unavailable.
    Only if Modified Select

The files associated to geometry or document objects are exported only if the object is modified after the last export.

Note: The Filter X-PDM Owned Objects check box is unavailable.
    Clear

The files associated to geometry or document objects are exported even if the object is not modified after the last export.

By default, the Only if Modified check box is clear.

  9. In the 3D File Format list, select an appropriate format to extract 3D exact geometry format to exchange.

    Options Description
Exact Select the Exact option, to transfer the authoring data (exact geometry).

While transferring, the exact geometry is converted to the specific CAD format selected in the 3D File Format list.

    Tessellated

Select the Tessellated option, to transfer the visualization data. The visualization data is extracted from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform database and transferred to X-PDM. While transferring, the extracted tessellated geometry is converted to the specific format as per the selected 3D File Format.

    Notes:
    • Depending on your setup, the Tessellated option might be unavailable for the CAD formats other than CATIA and STEP.
    • While exporting with the Tessellated option, if no tessellated geometry is present in 3DEXPERIENCE platform but an exact geometry is available, no representation is transferred.
    • When you export a 3DEXPERIENCE platform product structure including Drawing representations to X-PDM with the Tessellated option, the drawing data is suppressed in transition and only the tessellated geometry is converted into selected format.
    • Do not export geometry files with Tessellated option after exporting the same geometry files with the Exact option, as this results in unsynchronized or downgraded geometry in the external systems.
    As Specification

Select the As Specifications option, to export all 3DShapes with their specifications.

For more information, see Reference With Representation.

Note: The As Specifications option is only available if, a compatible CATIA format is selected from the 3D File Format list.

  10. In the 2D File Format list, select an appropriate format to export the drawings.

Note: For STEP or any other CAD formats, the default value in the 2D File Format list is None. You can select PDF or TIFF from the drop-down list.

If you select PDF or TIFF, all the drawings are exported as unique PDF (with the required number of sheets) or TIFF. For more information about the customization of the generated PDF or TIFF, refer the Native Apps User Preferences Guide: General | Compatibility | Graphics Formats.

Note: In the Parameters configuration dialog box, select All sheets and Save multisheet document in a single file to generate a PDF and TIFF with all the sheets of the drawing.

  11. Click OK.
    The XPDMImportExportBatch dialog box appears.
  12. Select or clear the With event bus connectivity check box.

    Check box Status Impact Description
Select Activates the event bus connectivity during process operations.

By default, the With event bus connectivity check box is selected.

    Clear

Deactivates the event bus connectivity during process operations. Enter the details in the Export File Path area.

    1. In the Location box, do one of the following:
      1. Enter the directory path, where the exported XPDMXML file should get saved.
      2. Click Browse , to select the required directory.
    2. Enter the name of the export file in the Filename box.

For more information, see Monitoring Gateway Server.

Note: On the cloud, the With event bus connectivity check box is not available.

  13. To search for an object to be exported, click 3DEXPERIENCE Platform Object Search .
The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform Object Search dialog box appears. For more information, refer 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps User's Guide: Native Apps Common Services | Tools | Batches | Searching for Files.
  14. In the Report directory box, do one of the following:

    • Enter the directory path, where the report should get saved.
    • Click Browse , to select the required directory.

The Report directory option is mandatory. By default the current or temporary directory is selected.
  15. Enter the name of the report in the Report name box.
  16. Click Save.

The batch parameters are saved in an XML file.

Note: When saved, this file can be edited manually and used later on without accessing the batch interface. For more information, refer Running the XPDMImportExportBatch from Command Line.

  17. Click Run to start the batch.

When the execution is finished, the XPDMImportExportBatch batch generates a detailed HTML report saved in the directory specified in the Report directory box. .

    Notes:
    • The HTML report displays the following information, if:
      • The selected object is processed or not.
      • The batch is executed successfully or not.
    • Requirement hidden types are not supported for export using XPDMImportExportBatch.
    • Exporting multi-sheet drawing into multiple PDF files through XPDMImportExportBatch is not supported.
    • 3D Shape as a root is not supported for export using XPDMImportExportBatch, even if the 3D Shape option is shown in the Type drop-down list of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform Object Search window.
