Mapping an Artwork Element

You can map a text frame to a copy element of a POA. You can also map an image frame to a graphic element.

  1. In Adobe Illustrator, click Window > 3DEXPERIENCE Copy & Artwork > Artwork Assembly to open the Artwork Assembly panel.
  2. Search for a POA. For more information, see Searching for POAs.
The Artwork Assembly panel is updated with the selected POA's artwork elements data.
  3. In Adobe Illustrator, select one or more text frames, or image frames.
  4. In the Artwork Assembly panel, select the artwork element to be mapped with the selected text or image frames.
  5. Click Map Element.

An association is created between the text or the image frame and the selected artwork element of the POA. A Link icon is displayed for the mapped artwork element. A blue border is shown around the text frame.

You can map a copy element to multiple text frames simultaneously or individually. After you map a copy element to a text frame, select another text frame, select the same copy element, and click Map Element. You can repeat this process to map multiple text frames. You can also map a graphic element to multiple graphic frames.

Note: If you want to maintain styling and formatting on text areas, in the 3DEXPERIENCE Preferences dialog box, in the Artwork tab, select Yes for the Server-side Text Style option.
