The Connector for Altium Designer Database Library includes the Component Data Management dialog box where a Librarian can synchronize components between the ECAD Library in Altium Designer and 3DEXPERIENCE.
To enable this component, select File > Open Project in Altium Designer. Use the file chooser to locate and select the Altium Library File.DbLib file.
You can configure Component Data Management to synchronize data in the background. This is extremely helpful when the ECAD library or the parts in 3DEXPERIENCE should be synchronized on a frequent basis without any user interaction. Typically, such synchronization is done once a day to make sure that the latest changes go into the ECAD Library or into 3DEXPERIENCE. The background process creates a detailed report file in the project folder when synchronizing materials from 3DEXPERIENCE to the ECAD library. The report lists materials added, removed, attributes modified and materials with no changes. Important:
You might need to increase the Java heap space if you synchronize more than a thousand parts at a time. If you see a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError or Java heap space error when synchronizing, increase the java heap space size settings under the <ROOTINSTALLATION>\bin\<ConnectorName>.vmoptions file of the connector executable.
