Moving Components with the Robot (Advanced)

You can move a component using the Robot.


Before you begin:
  • Open an assembly.
  • The element to move must belong to the active component.

  1. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Move selected Component .
  2. Select the component to move.
    • The Robot is positioned on the selected component.
    • A contextual toolbar appears:
      • : collapses or expends the toolbar commands.
      • : creates a distance measure between the Robot origin and a selected element.
      • : resets the component to its original position and orientation.
      • : validates the new position.
      • : cancels the command.
  3. Move the component using the Robot translations and/or rotations.

    To move child components along with the product regardless existing constraints, press Shift and manipulate.

  4. Click and select an element on another component.
    A new Ruler is created.
  5. Double-click the Ruler value.
    • The value is now editable and change the value move the component accordingly.
    • A new toolbar appears:
      • : reorients the Robot along the Ruler direction.
      • : deletes the ruler.
  6. Click to validate the new position and orientation of the component.
