Creating Engineering Connections Contextually

You can create engineering connection constraints out of the Engineering Connection command context using contextual toolbar commands.


Before you begin: Open an existing assembly that contains 3D shape representations.
  1. Select a component in the work area.
    The context toolbar displays the types of constraints you can create according to the selected element on the component.
  2. Press Ctrl and select a second component.
    The list of constraint types displayed in the context toolbar is updated according the selected element on the second component.
  3. In the context toolbar, select a constraint from the list of constraint types.
  4. In the Engineering Connection Context toolbar, change the constraint specifications. For more information, see Engineering Connection Context Toolbars.
  5. Click anywhere in the 3D area to validate. The cursor looks like this .
    íThe constraint and the corresponding engineering connection are created.
