Editing a Project

You can edit a Project in the In Definition lifecycle state to specify additional information.

Define a Domain

You can define the domain that the Project is designed to address.

  1. In a project, select the Project Information tab.
  2. In the General Information section, enter the Domain and Scope.

When you move the cursor out of a field, this automatically saves the current value and reports the event in an on-screen pop in message. The Modification field displays the timestamp of the last change.

Select a Target

You can define the Target for the Project. You can search for the target using 3DSearch. If your Project does not require a Target, leave this section empty.

  1. In a Project, select the Project Information tab.
  2. In the Target section, click to open 3DSearch.
    The 3DSearch results automatically return only Innovation Design & Decisions products.
  3. Select the appropriate project that represents the Target of this Project.
  4. Click OK.

You can only select a single Target. To change the Target, click and select a different 3DSearch result, this will automatically replace any existing target when you click OK. To delete a target click then .

Add Project Members

You can add members and assign their roles if you are the creator of the Project.

Context:

The other users who can access and, depending on their role, manage the Project can be defined in the Members section of the Project Information tab. As the creator of this Project, you can add members and assign their roles. If you remove the Project Leader role from yourself, you will no longer be able to manage project members.

  1. In a Project, select the Project Information tab.
  2. In the Members section, enter part of the name of a user who you want to access this Project.
  3. From the list, select the user's full name.
  4. For each user, select their roles, options are:
    • Project Leader
    • Creator
    • Experimenter
    • Viewer

The selected users have the access according to their specified roles.
