Working with the Stages Sequence

You can manage your Stages Sequence by reordering Stages, selecting colors for Stages, deleting Stages, and viewing the details of their Tests.

View Stage Tests

You can view the details of a Stage.

  1. In a project, select the Stages Sequence tab and expand the Stage to examine.
    This displays all the Discovery Decision Path Tests assigned to the Stage.
  2. Select the name of a Test.

This displays the full definition of the Test, with the Stages list shown to the left, including:

  • General Information
  • Protocols
  • Consolidated Answers
  • Requirements

Organize Tests in Stages

You can organize tests in each stage, using steps to define groups of tests to perform together. The order of the steps defines the other in which to carry out the groups of tests.

  1. In a project, select the Stages Sequence tab.
  2. For the stage to organize, click .
    This opens the Organize panel for the stage.
  3. Drag one or more tests into the default step area.
  4. To add a test to a previous or subsequent step, drag the test to the left or right edge of the existing step. When a box outline appears, drop the test into the box.
    This creates a new step with the test added.
  5. Optional: Drag tests from steps back to the list to remove them.
    The removed test returns to the list of unorganized tests.
  6. Optional: Click to remove a step.
    This removes the step and all of its test return to the list of unorganized tests.

This creates steps and organizes the tests. On the Stages Sequence tab, the icon reports the number of tests in steps for the stage.

Change Stage Colors

You can change the color assigned to a Stage.

  1. In a project, select the Stages Sequence tab.
  2. Select the current color for the Stage.
    This displays a palette.
  3. Select the color to use for the current Stage and click outside the palette.

This updates the Stage color.

Move Stages

You can move Stages in the sequence to change their order.

  1. In a project, select the Stages Sequence tab.
  2. For the Stage to move, click and drag into its new location.

This updates the sequence with the new order of Stages.

Delete Stages

You can delete Stages that you no longer require.

  1. In a project, select the Stages Sequence tab.
  2. For the Stage to delete, click .
  3. Select the Stage to which you want to transfer any Tests that belong to the Stage you are deleting.

This removes the selected Stage and moves its Tests to the specified other Stage.
